For almost 24 hours after Blake Griffin detonated a dunk over him, Kendrick Perkins trended worldwide on Twitter. Griffin's dunk changed Perkins' reputation from the tough guy in the paint to the guy that got posterized.

No bother to him though, he says. Via Yahoo! Sports:
"If I was in the same position, in the same rotation, I’m going to jump again and again and again,” Perkins told Yahoo! Sports. “I don’t care. A lot of people are afraid of humiliation or don’t know how to handle embarrassment or would even get embarrassed. I don’t care.

“I’m the same Perk you’re going to see. I’m still going to sign autographs the same way. I ain’t going to change. The people that move out the way and stuff are the people who have insecurity problems.

“That’s my job. How will my teammates look at me if next time I just back out the way and just let him dunk when I’m supposed to be defensive-minded, a shot-blocker? That would be a coward move on me. He’d just have to dunk on me again.”

One thing that did bother Perk though? LeBron James' reaction to Griffin's dunk. Specifically, his excited tweet about it that said, "Dunk of the Year! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I’m No. 2 now. Move over #6.” LeBron of course talking about his dunk over John Lucas III.

Said Perkins:
"You don’t see Kobe [Bryant] tweeting,” Perkins said. “You don’t see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you’re an elite player, plays like that don’t excite you. At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play.

“They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2. I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him.”

One thing to note: I think the reason you don't see Kobe or Michael Jordan tweeting is because they aren't on Twitter. Just a theory.

But Perk's sour grapes here about LeBron seems a bit petty to me. A lot of players tweeted about Griffin's dunk, including Chris Paul, Magic Johnson and Kevin Love. I do see Perk's point though in that the way LeBron's tweet was worded makes it seem like LeBron is a tad vain.

The Heat play the Thunder March 25. That game was already must-watch, but it's got another storyline with it now. I think LeBron might try to Mosgov and Lucas Perkins all that the same time.

Perkins slams LeBron about his tweet on Griffin

Perkins is a man.  Lebron is still trying to find out what kind of man he wants to be.  After 8 years in NBA he should know already.  He will never reach the levels of sportsmanship or respect that the media and NBA establishment hope he does.  He has started down the road of disappointment and looks to reamin on that path for a long time.

For someone who claims he does not care about being humiliated, why is he so perturbed by what LeBron tweeted?  He goes back and forth between not caring about getting posterized and caring about getting posterized.

Only cowards dont defend the rim.  You never know if youll get caught in a bad possition or someone elses man gets by them and your forced into a bad situation but whatever the case may be, you have to do your job.  Apprarently Lebrons job is being a celebrity, I remember a time he got posterized by some kid and he and Nike completly freaked out over the deal,,,, Perk is right about James's insecurities in his manhood.

Perkins slams LeBron about his tweet on Griffin

First off, Kendrick Perkins is right.  He would be a coward to get out of the way.  His job is to try to enforce the paint.  He just happened to get dunked on by an elite athlete.  It happens to everyone at this level.  About LeBron, he is a tool.  Bron DOES need attention and spotlight BUT he is entitled to be a fan of the game too.  There was nothing wrong with LeBron tweeting about it.  Kendrick, if you dont want to be tweeted about or the youtube sensation...dont get mashed on next time! lol

Kendrick Perkins is always complaining, weather it's in the game or afterwards. There isn't a wistle that blows that Perk doesn't at least give a stank eye to a ref about even if he isn't involved.  I'm sure he could purposly punch someone in the face and then argue about being ejected.  You say you're not mad then shut up about it. Who cares what LeBron tweets to Griffin, everyone, even great defensive centers have been dunked on, Ewing, Howard, Garnett, and you're not even close to being in the same breath as those guys so just stop talking.

Didn't Perk just say that you don't see them tweeting????  What is the point of this comment?
Royce Young - I don't typically comment on the writing on any site, but you are not a journalist...or an editorialist...or a reporter...and not even close to being a basketball analyst.  Go follow LBJ and his every move ...on his twitter...bc he has a twitter...just a theory.

Perkin's is an old school player has every right to be defended. He did what he know's is right to do.  Blake won't be able to dunk like that all the time eventually (witness Ama're Stoudemire who he is often comapred to).  Lebron just doesn't know when to hold back yes other player's tweeted but his tweets are always going to be more heavily scrutinized. Win a championship already Lebron then you can say whatever you want.

Why is Kendrick Perkins trolling LeBron James' twitter to alleviate some of the embarassment he got?  Sour grapes, indeed.  "Yeah I got dunked on and I ain't mad.  Except for being mad at LeBron James."  I think the only person that likes to hear their name in the news more than LeBron James is Kendrick Perkins.

What a tool LeFraud is! And this guy wonders why everyone hates him?  He couldn't compliment a player without mentioning himself.
How self absorbed can a person be?
