Chris Rock explains why LeBron left Cleveland

If it's not obvious to you why LeBron James left Cleveland by now, well, then you're just not paying attention. LeBron left a team that set an all-time NBA record for consecutive losses. Really the only difference between this Cleveland tean and last season's is the absence of LeBron.

So it's kind of hard to blame LeBron with his decision to go find a team with talented players around him. I think it should all make sense by now. And comedian Chris Rock sees it plain as day too. He offered Esquire his take on why LeBron left.

SCOTT RAAB: I’m writing a book about LeBron. I’m a Cleveland guy. I’m mad at him.

CHRIS ROCK: I don’t even see what the big story is. The owner’s an idiot. Why is the owner an idiot? I said it on television — you can look it up. I was at a Lakers game — they were probably playing the Knicks. It was on TNT, and Kenny and Mark Jackson and whoever interviewed me on the sidelines, they asked me about LeBron. I said, “They should trade him.” I said it, on national television.

SR: We thought he was coming back, Chris.

CR: I said you should trade him. I said any owner, any big-ego owner would take this shot. You could’ve got any player — you literally could’ve got Kobe Bryant. You could’ve got any player you wanted. You could’ve gotten literally any player outside of Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard. Any player. You could’ve got any two or three players you liked. I said this on national television. You could look it up — you’re a writer.

I said that in the middle of the season. The day the season was over, I was doing press for Grown Ups , the movie I did with Sandler. They asked me again: “Where’s LeBron going? What’s going to happen?” I said, “Well, if he’s going to Cleveland, you will know within 24 hours, but if Pat Riley gets him in a room, it’s all over .”

SR: We thought he was coming back.

CR: Why would you think he’s coming back? People move from Cleveland to Miami every f—ing day. They don’t move from Miami to Cleveland.

SR: Because of his mother. Because of Gloria.

CR: Well, guess where his mother’s living right now. In f—ing Miami. I saw that coming a mile away. Are you kidding me? He’s not signing his extension? Trade him right now.

SR: He signed for the three years. They all did — he and Bosh and Wade.

CR: He didn’t realize it? He’s an idiot — the owner’s an idiot. You’re in Cleveland , dude.

Simple as that people. You see, Chris Rock had it all along. Too bad nobody ever listens to him. He was probably trying to tell Kobe this exact thing when he got tuned out last year. So if he has something to say about Carmelo Anthony, everyone listen up, OK?

people from cleveland are delusional, living in a fantasy world with these retarded assumptions and there basically lying to yourself. the only reason.. and again the only reason cleveland is this bad is because you lost a freak of nature in lebron. this guys talent is otherwordly and you idiots still think its bc you lost that fat washed up piece of **** shaq and that dumb russian. all you people need to get your heads outta your a** and wake up and smell the coffee. cavs are one of the worst teams in nba history simply because... YOU LOST LEBRON JAMES

Ummmm, no I think two players from Cleveland moved to Miami at least, Shaq went to the Celtics and a head coach was fired. Cleveland lost everything in essence in this off season. The two I know of in Miami, James and Ilgauskas. Any more ? Maybe even might've gone elsewhere ? Cleveland really isn't as bad a team as the losing streak has them on paper and when they play, they were that bad for that stretch, but a lot of stars in the universe had to be in proper alignment to lose that many games. Wonder how many they blew that were winnable either way that breaks up the record setting losing streak.

Chris Rock might be right about getting most any player(s), I doubt the Lakers move Kobe Bryant for him. Though it would be interesting to see if Phil Jackson could win more NBA Finals with James, a guy that seems to become mortal in the biggest games that have defined his career.

Chris Rock explains why LeBron left Cleveland

Chris Rock was right, because he knew that LeBron was walking because the owner wasn't willing to put more around Lebron. Yes, the Heat don't have as good of a record as last year's Cavs, but they started out slow because of team chemistry and injuries. As Phil Jackson has said many times this year about his Lakers, we still have time, the playoffs aren't here yet. Yes, is time running out, no question, but the Heat are younger than the Celtics, Howard may be leaving the Magic at the end of the year and the Knicks still don't have Carmelo. So in the short term, the Heat still might not be better than the Celtics, but long term, they probably are. Getting back to Chris Rock. If the owner wasn't willing to bring in more talent which LeBron asked for, he should have traded LeBron and gotten something out of it. The Nuggets will get something in return for Carmelo.

Again I ask...If the talent in Miami is such an upgrade then why are they nowhere near where the Cavs were record-wise at this point last year and will not come close by the end of the year??? They won't even get to game 6 versus the Celtics...and that's if they can get by Orlando.
